Blueberry Smoothie

Today’s smoothie is full of good stuff, in taste and in its nutritional value.

Mix of pineapple, orange and blueberries. Why is it so good you might wonder, well the answer is in blueberries.

Blueberries prevent the formation of tumors, slow the growth of already existing tumors, lower blood pressure, and relieve inflammation. But the most wonderful feature that is attributed to them is slowing down the development of dementia related to age. Researchers from Tuft University have conducted experience on older people. For three months, some of the people participating in the experiment drank two glasses of blueberry juice, the others drank the same amount of juice that didn’t contain this fruit. People who drank blueberry juice did 30% better in memory tests and cognitive functions than people who drink substitutes.
Of course, we can say how many scientists there are so many opinions and the study clearly does not mean that blueberries can protect us against many diseases. However, I think that it would not hurt to risk the risk that maybe these scientists are right and add some more blueberries to our daily diet.

Blueberries are harvested when they are fully ripe and begin to mold within a week. If you not planning to eat them right away, store them in the fridge drawer. Do not rinse out the raid (natural wax coating) up to the time of consumption, this coating allows them to maintain juiciness and fights bacteria.
