Today I want to share with you our Date #2, if you don’t know what is it about I sent you to my first post where I explain a bit about it 🙂
This week we went for dinner date to one of our local restaurants – Garland. It’s an Indian & Asian Cuisine but you won’t find there a typical Indian food. It is quite a popular place and making a reservation is a good idea.
We started with a small plate to share – Coconut Poached Shrimp, and they were delicious!
They come in a broth which is really yummy!
My husband got Chicken 65 and rice and he really liked it. I tried a small piece of chicken from him and the chicken was so well seasoned! It’s a small plate but you can add rice to it and order it as your main dish.
For my main dish, I ordered Vegetable Curry – local farm vegetables, house-made paneer, baby peas, tomato broth, coconut milk, cardamom basmati rice, pickled onion, whipped coconut cream.
The paneer was really soft and it was melting in my mouth! I really liked the sauce and the mix of veggies.
The dessert menu wasn’t impressive for us, and we decided to grab it in a different place. We went to lucettegrace to try their pastries.
I choose Larry Meets Escazu with chocolate brownie cake, coffee creme brulee, Irish whiskey, dark chocolate mousse. And believe me, this tasted like 110% chocolate! It was so rich in chocolate taste I wasn’t able to finish it. Unfortunately 😉 They have so many sweets that is really hard to choose from! I definitely recommend that place.
I think from all the food we ate on that day, I liked the cake the most 😉 I did like the veggie curry but I can’t say it was the best I’ve ever had. We might come back to this place but I can’t say it will be on my list of favorite restaurants.
So far our favorite restaurant in the area is Mia Francesca which has delicious Italian food.
