For our last wedding (4th one!) we got an amazing gift from one of our friends – Date Night Box. This is probably the most thoughtful gift we’ve got!
It’s a wooden box with blank cards that you can fill in. Even though our friend lives far away from us, she spent time researching what to do in our area and came up with lovely date ideas.
This weekend we got to choose the first card and go on a first date!
Our first choice was JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh.
The JC Raulston Arboretum is a nationally acclaimed garden with one of the largest and most diverse collections of landscape plants adapted for landscape use in the Southeast.
They have lots of events, like Garden story time for children, workshops where you can learn about sustainable home landscaping, oil painting, and even photography! There are so many things to do there! I defiantly want to go back to this place, but I will wait for the temperature to drop, which is not happening anytime soon.. the worst is coming. I am a bit scared of how I will survive this North Carolina heat..
The weather was almost perfect for visiting a garden. We should have probably got there a bit earlier because it started getting pretty hot already. It was still nice in a shade. We went there on Saturday and some parts were closed for weddings. It must be quite a popular place, we saw 3 weddings on that day.
You can see there beautiful flowers, trees, and other plants.
Can’t wait for Date #2 this weekend!
