Going Raw! – Detox Day 8

Starting 2nd week of my Going Raw – Raw Vegan – 8 week detox 🙂

And I feel great!

You might think I haven’t change much, and that’s also kind of how it feels. Those changes were so small I barely even noticed them, but what I’ve noticed I fell much better! I feel energized, I feel light and I feel like I have control. I control what I put in my body. I don’t have cravings, simply because I can eat whenever I feel hungry and pretty much what I want. If I want to eat pizza I eat pizza, if I feel like burger I eat burger, if I feel like I want to eat my favorite Indian I do so. But honestly what I discovered this week is I don’t crave those things, I don’t crave unhealthy food. And even when I eat out I choose healthier alternatives.

Of course with smoothie!

Cacao Mint Smoothie, doesn’t this sounds delicious?

Breakfast

Cacao Mint Smoothie
1 serving
– 1/2 cup coconut water
– 2 cup plant milk*
– 1/2 avocado
– 2 pitted dates
– small piece of vanilla bean
– 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
– few fresh mint leaves
– 1/2 tsp spirulina*

I added 1 tsp of spirulina, which was too much, and it tasted too strong. Tomorrow I will try with only a half of teaspoon as see how it taste.

Originally I used only 1 cup of milk, but you can use 2 and even more coconut water. Spirulina makes the smoothie really thick. I personally like it better when it’s more liquid, so feel free to add as much coconut water/plant milk as you wish.

Lunch


Raw Salad with Veggie Dressing.

Salad:
– 2-3 cups mixed greens
– 1/2 red onion
– 1/3 cucumber
– 1 tomato
– 1/3 red bell pepper
– 1 carrot

Dressing:
– 2 tbsp sunflower seeds, soaked overnight
– 1/4 cup cashews
– 1 carrot
– 1 red bell pepper
– 1/2 zucchini
– 2 tbsp lemon juice
– 1 tbsp coconut aminos
– salt & pepper
– water* (it depends how thick you want your dressing to be)

Snack

Bowl of deliciousness for snack!

Fresh figs that I got at my local Farmers Market this weekend, peaches & my very favorite tomato & mayo raw sandwich!

Dinner

Super quick Red Lentil Spaghetti Bolognese!

Recipe coming soon! In a meantime you can use Vegan Spaghetti Bolognese recipe, it’s a bit more complicated version (it’s worth those extra minutes!).

What is 8 week detox about?

It’s a detox and introduction to eating raw for longer period of time. Divided in 3 phases – Phase 1 (two weeks) which is explained below; Phase 2 – where you are 100% raw; and Phase 3 – you eat 80% raw, gradually introduce 20% cooked food.

If you follow my blog you might now that I started experimenting with raw food some time ago. I started #RawTuesday and I went fully raw once a week. Now I feel that I am ready for next step. I don’t feel ready to go 100% raw, but I think 80/20 is a perfect combination for me right now. I believe it will let me to keep the perfect balance between eating raw food and cravings for cooked food.
