If you never tried spirulina you defiantly should. But you might not heard about it, and that’s ok. Let me tell you you things about this awesome plant.
Spirulina is an alga that is rich in proteins, vitamins, essential amino acids, minerals and essential fatty acids. Spirulina has a long history of use as food.
There are reports that Spirulina was used traditionally by Mexicans during the Aztec civilization for over 1000 years, they already knew what’s good for you!
Spirulina is 60-70% protein by weight and contains a rich source of vitamins, especially vitamin B 12 and pro-vitamin A (-carotene), minerals, especially
iron – answer to never ending question where do vegans get they proteins from.
As you can see there is so much nutrition in that alga! So go ahead and add it into your smoothie, smoothie bowl or juice and enjoy the nutritious (and so colorful!) drink!
What will you need?
Depending on a size of your smoothie (if it’s your meal replacement or just a snack), I made mine as a snack and I used one orange, 1 cup of spinach, 1 cup of coconut water, 0.5-1 cup water and 2 tbsp of spirulina.
