Pink Smoothie

Raspberries, Banana & Coconut Water – I have to say I love that combination! It’s delectable and fresh, and look at that color!

I made this smoothie for one of #RawTuesday days.

What’s good in Raspberries?

They slow down the aging process – the high vitamin C content in berries help keep collage building underneath the skin so the skin stays firm, toned, elastic-like, younger looking, and younger feeling.

They reduce your cancer risk. Blueberries and raspberries are truly anti-cancer fruits.

What’s good in Banana?

For all the athletes, you might want to know that “banana might reasonably replace sports drinks for those of us who rely on carbohydrates to fuel exercise and speed recovery, according to a new study comparing the cellular effects of carbohydrates consumed during sports.” – great article in Times

One medium banana (∼118 g) contains about 27 g carbohydrate (half as sugars), 3.1 g dietary fiber, 105 kilocalories, and is a good source of potassium (422 mg). Thus bananas appear to be a unique mixture of carbohydrates, nutrients, and antioxidants that may provide good nutrition support during prolonged and intensive exercise.

What’s goof in Coconut water?

Coconut water has more potassium than a medium banana. In its natural form, it is a refreshing and nutritious beverage which is widely consumed due to its beneficial properties to health.
Micronutrients such as inorganic ions and vitamins in coconut water play a vital role in aiding the human body antioxidant system.
