Plant Based Snacks

There is so many plant based snack options! Just think about all that fruits and vegetables. You can snack on them as much as you won’t without feeling guilty, how great is that?

 

Raw Vegetables

  • bell peppers
  • broccoli (yes, it can be eaten raw!)
  • carrot
  • cauliflower
  • celery
  • cucumber
  • tomatoes
  • cherry tomatoes
  • eggplant
  • leafy greens
  • mushrooms
  • radish
  • snap peas
  • zucchini

You can eat them just like that or dip them in a sauce – like guacamole, hummus, salsa, black bean dip.

 

Fresh Fruits 

Fruits are best eaten as a first meal, before cooked food. They digest really quickly and if eaten after cooked food they will ferment in your stomach which might cause bloating and gas.

 

Nuts 

If you snack on nuts, be careful. They are high in fat and calories, so if you are trying to lose few pounds you can easily sabotage that by eating to many nuts. I would not recommend to eat them everyday and don’t combine them with fruits.

 

Craving for something really sweet?

Don’t worry I have a solution! The best way to kill your sweet tooth are … DATES! Here are some examples! They are sooo sweet, they will definitely satisfy your craving. And don’t worry if you eat lots of them. They are still better than processed candies and bars. You might not be able to change everything at once, if you are used to eating a sugary bar everyday, quitting it will be hard. Healthy substitute is a great option! And with time who knows, you might not need sweet at all. Give yourself time.
